A material that is as valuable as gold - Supima cotton

Supima cotton is a term used to describe the finest extra-long staple cotton grown in the United States. It accounts for only about 1% of the global cotton production and is considered as a type of ultra-long fiber cotton. Supima cotton stands out from other types of cotton due to its exceptionally long staple length, which gives it superior qualities such as strength, softness, and color retention.

Features of Pima cotton:

1. Long fiber length:
The staple length of top-grade Supima cotton can reach up to 40mm, which is about 35% longer than regular cotton. It has the longest fiber length among all cotton types. The reduced presence of fiber ends on the fabric surface significantly reduces fabric abrasion, resulting in minimal pilling and a soft, static-free feel.

2. High resilience and luster:
Top-grade Supima cotton exhibits high resilience and a strong natural luster. It is about 45% more resilient than regular cotton, resulting in a fabric that is soft, smooth, and has a vibrant color. Additionally, the fabric drapes well and retains its shape.

3. Color durability:
Supima cotton has a higher level of fiber activity compared to other cotton types. Its fine, ultra-long fibers have excellent dye absorption, resulting in vibrant and translucent colors. Furthermore, it has higher colorfastness, meaning it is less likely to fade with prolonged use. This makes it a preferred choice for producing high-end textiles.

4. Environmentally friendly and non-irritating:
Supima cotton meets environmental and human health requirements. It is free from harmful substances such as formaldehyde, fluorescent brighteners, and carcinogenic aromatic amines.

STELLAM aims to provide customers with the experience of wearing soft and smooth garments by using top-grade Supima cotton. The ANGEL crewneck knit top, for example, is made with 85% Supima cotton and 15% cashmere, creating a fabric with an even softer and smoother texture.
